December 23, 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived to the end of the 2014 NFL season.

Hold on tight, because there will be fireworks before the playoffs begin. We know who’s in. However, we don’t know who will face whom.

The AFC features the only team to clinch a division and home field advantage in the New England Patriots. Everyone else is vying for positioning and playoff berths. Denver currently holds the No. 2 seed, followed by Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh as the only teams that clinched. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati will battle for the AFC North. San Diego, Baltimore, Houston and Kansas City are still alive fighting for that final sixth spot.

The NFC became more convoluted after last week. The Seattle Seahawks currently hold the No.1 spot, but that can change. Arizona, Dallas, Detroit and Green Bay all have playoff spots. The NFC South is still open between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons, who will host Carolina for that title.

With so much on the line, here’s a breakdown from Joe Ferreira of CBSSports.com:
