Welcome to the NFL Playoffs, as the road to the Lombardi Trophy thinned out last week.

The Indianapolis Colts made history, coming back from 28 points to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. The New Orleans Saints also made history, finally winning their first road playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sunday’s games saw two more road teams take victories. The San Diego Chargers embarrassed the Cincinnati Bengals in a dominant road victory. The San Francisco 49ers outlasted the Green Bay Packers in freezing temperatures.

This leaves us with this week’s matchups. In the AFC, the Denver Broncos host the Chargers in a rubber match. The Colts will travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots.

The NFC will feature the Saints on the road again taking on the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, the 49ers travel to Carolina to battle against the surging Panthers.

I went 2-2 in my picks, getting Saturday’s games right and Sunday’ games wrong. Here are my picks for this NFL Playoff weekend.

Saturday’s Predictions

Seahawks over Saints: the Saints got over the hump on the road. However, Seattle is a far superior team than Philadelphia. The Saints’ run should end here.

Patriots over Colts: the Colts managed to come back from a Chiefs team suffering injuries. The Patriots won’t fall for the same mistakes the Chiefs did.

Sunday’s Predictions

49ers over Panthers: another tough game for the 49ers, who have a lot to prove. Carolina also can make this a statement game as well. Expect a tough battle on both sides, as I will take the 49ers in a slugfest.

Broncos over Chargers: San Diego could pull off this upset. They did it before in Week 15 on Thursday night. However, Peyton Manning and the Broncos are on a mission to prove they’re the best. Lightning won’t strike twice for the Chargers this time.
