2011 NFL Week 11 Picks

Wednesday November 16, 2011

Welcome to Week 11 of the NFL season. After week nine’s chaotic landscape, week ten restored order. The Patriots, Steelers and Saints regained the lead in their divisions. The Packers remain undefeated, and the 49ers are now being called legitimate contenders. Meanwhile, the Jets and Giants lost to both the Patriots and 49ers. The Eagles continue to fall from their division. Lastly, the Colts are making a solid case to draft Andrew Luck. What will happen this week?

First, let’s take a look back at Week 10. I went 5-11 last week, bringing my total to 89 wins and 57 losses. Here’s a look back at what I got wrong.

Now let’s take a look at the Game of the Week.

Game of the Week:

NBC delivers another Sunday Night rivalry. This time, the 6-3 New York Giants host the 3-6 Philadelphia Eagles. The tables have turned. The Eagles were preseason favorites to take the NFC East. Now, the Giants are first while the Eagles free fall from the race. It only gets worse as Eagles QB Michael Vick cracked two ribs against the Cardinals last week. It’s unlikely Vick will play this Sunday. Regardless, the Giants need to capitalize on the Eagles’ key injury. Plus, they are in the middle of the toughest stretch in their season. They cannot afford to lose against an opponent they are capable of beating. The Giants beat them already in Philadelphia. They take out Vick, they win the game. Easier said than done

Prediction: Giants 24-10
