2011 NFL Week 10 Picks

Wednesday November 9, 2011

Welcome to week 10 of the NFL. We open Thursday Night Football with the Raiders and the Chargers this week. First, let’s review what happened last week.

Shocking turn of events happened in Week 9. Eli Manning took one step closer of his elite claim when he led the Giants in the closing seconds to victory against the Patriots. The Jets finally won a road game. The Ravens swept the season series with Pittsburgh which means if both teams end up tied at season’s end, Baltimore would take the lead. The most surprising fact from Week 9 is the Bengals are first in the AFC North and in the AFC Conference! Can they keep up the momentum?

I went 8-6 last week, bringing my total to 84 wins and 46 losses. Here’s what I got wrong:

Many great games are on this week, yet one question lingers. What is the Game of the Week for Week 10?

Game of the Week:

NFL Sunday Night continues having its marquee matchups. This week features old rivals trying to break a tie in the AFC East.

Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets host Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Both teams are 5-3 and in a three way tie for first with the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots need this win to end a two game losing streak. The Jets need this win for the AFC East and bragging rights. The Jets look to continue their three-game winning streak. Ironically, the last team they lost to was the Patriots in Week 6. However, these are two different teams from then. How can the Pats stop the Jets when theycoudn’t stop a battered and injured Giants offense last week? Expect the trend to continue.

Prediction: Jets 17-10
