2011 NFL Week 7 Picks

Friday October 21, 2011

Welcome to week 7 of the NFL. The trade deadline passed with two big deals as one passed while the other failed. The Raiders picked up QB Carson Palmer for a 2012 1st rounder and a 2013 conditional pick. The Lions could have acquired RB Ronnie Brown for the Eagles in exchange for RB Jerome Harrison, but Harrison failed his physical. That trade is null and void.

It’s time for my picks. I went 10-3 last week, bringing my total record to 59 wins and 31 losses. Here’s a look back at what I got wrong.

The Giants, New England, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Philadelphia and San Francisco will take a rest this week. Here is our Game of the Week:

Game of the Week:

RB Ladainian Tomlinson was one of the most beloved and revered Chargers in franchise history. He is their all-time leader in yards and touchdowns. He left for a chance to win a title with the New York Jets. Now, he faces his old team on his new home turf. The Jets host the Chargers in an AFC showdown of possible contenders. The Chargers are coming off their bye week, while the Jets boast an undefeated record at home (3-0). The rivalry recently reignited when Jets coach Rex Ryan criticized Chargers coach Norv Turner. He said if he coached the Chargers with their lineup, he might have had a few rings by now. Ryan apologized to Turner, but according to reports, Turner was not impressed. Let the sparks fly and stay clear of this one, football fans. This should be a classic, smash-mouth battle.

Good luck with your picks and teams this week. See you next time.

Yours Truly,

Sebastian Maldonado
