We will have a 2011 NFL season. As of last Monday, the NFL Lockout ended with the players and owners reaching a settlement. The restructured CBA will last up to ten years before a new deal must be made. The only damage done to the schedule was cancelling the Hall of Fame game between the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Rams. Now, the NFL is in full swing as free agents are being signed. Plus, veteran players are being traded. Here’s a list for all notable free agents currently signed:
Santonio Holmes, 5-yr. $50 million deal with $24 guaranteed
(a) Jon Beason, 5-yr. $50 million extension with $25 million guaranteed
(b) DeAngelo Williams, 5-yr. $43 million deal with $21 million guaranteed
(c) Charles Johnson, 6-yr. $72 million deal with a $30 million signing bonus
Matt Hasselbeck, undisclosed contract
Players are on the move, as many notable players have been traded over the past two days. Here’s a list of all the trades:
Traded a sixth-round pick in the 2012 draft and a conditional sixth-rounder in 2013 to the Washington Redskins for QB Donovan McNabb
Traded reserve safety Jonathon Amaya and an undisclosed number of draft picks to the New Orleans Saints for RB Reggie Bush
(a) Traded a fifth-round pick and sixth round pick (undisclosed draft) to the Cincinnati Bengals for WR Chad Ochocinco
(b) Traded a fifth-round pick in 2013 to the Washington Redskins for DT Albert Haynesworth
Traded CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second round pick in 2012 for QB Kevin Kolb.
Stay tuned to your television sets or your computers to find out where your favorite players go. Some will stay loyal, while others will head towards greener pastures. In the meantime, are you ready for some football?
