Games of the Week: &

It’s a tale of two AFC games, both on primetime. The Baltimore Ravens host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, while the New England Patriots host the New York Jets on Monday night. All four teams could be in the playoffs. The only difference is, only two of teams can lead their divisions. The Ravens and Steelers are fighting for the AFC North, while the Jets and Patriots battle for the AFC East.

The Steelers do not look like the same dominant team from two years ago. QB Ben Roethlisberger broke his right foot last week against Buffalo (although Steelers officials are denying the report). The Ravens are determined to take the AFC North once again. They seem evenly matched from the running game to a feared and respected defense scheme. The winner of this game will likely take the AFC North by season’s end.

The Patriots look different but still win. Gone are the big names like Randy Moss and Laurence Maroney in favor of Deion Branch and Danny Woodhead. The Jets, on the other hand, find ways to win the comeback style. This is the game that the Jets have been waiting for. Make no mistake though; the Patriots will be ready to play. Can the Jets’ defense shut down Tom Brady?

Bottom line: expect the changing of the guard, for both sides.

Prediction: Ravens 17-14

Prediction: Jets 30-20

Good luck with your teams and picks this week.

Yours Truly,

Sebastian Maldonado
