NFL Week 10 Picks

Saturday November 13, 2010

Welcome to Week 10 of the NFL season. As we enter the middle of the season, we are seeing which teams are pulling away from the pack. We also see teams on the bubble, fighting to become the top team in their division. Many good teams are fighting this year, and expect this season to end in a showdown like no other.

Proof reared its head when the Falcons beat the Ravens last Thursday night. The Ravens were favored, but the Falcons proved they are a team not to be reckoned with this season. They made a statement by beating one of the AFC’s toughest teams. They also proved they are arguably the best team in the NFC South Division and the NFC itself. Can the Falcons keep their momentum and head to Dallas for the Super Bowl?

Thanks to Atlanta’s victory, it puts me at 80 wins and 51 losses. Here are the rest of my picks for this week. Remember, the s.o. stands for the potential shutout victory:

This week’s Game of the Week is a no-brainer.

Game of the Week:

Two teams vying to be the best in the AFC, two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, two teams that have been in the trenches for nearly a decade, fighting on primetime, what more couldn’t you ask for? Tom Brady and the Patriots take on the Steelers in an AFC showdown. The Patriots know a victory over Pittsburgh would put them at the top of the list, and the same goes for Pittsburgh if they win. The Steelers need the old Ben Roethlisberger back if they want this victory. They cannot play like they did against Cincinnati (even though they won). The Patriots will capitalize on their opponents’ weaknesses and use them to their advantage.

A playoff caliber game could be witnessed if both teams show up. Every match-up is stacked from the offense and defense to the special teams. Expect nothing less of a gridiron classic in the hardworking blue collar city of Pittsburgh.

Prediction: Steelers 22-20

Good luck with your picks and/or teams this week. See you next time.

Yours Truly,

Sebastian Maldonado
