NFL Week 1 Picks

Saturday September 11, 2010

The NFL started off with a great display of equal dominance. The Vikings showed off their RB Adrian Peterson not missing a step. Yet, the Saints won by establishing their running game and stopping Brett Favre on the defensive side. Here are the rest of my picks for this week. The s.o. stands for my shutout pick:

Now it’s time for my game of the week:

Game of the Week:

Monday night has a great doubleheader. The opening game is the one many are talking about. The Baltimore Ravens got help for QB Joe Flacco in WRs Anquan Boldin and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Their defense took a hit when all-pro S Ed Reed was placed on injured reserve. Yet, their defense is still one of the best out there. The Jets have been hyped up to the point where nearly every person in New York has them winning the Super Bowl. They just got Darrelle Revis back, which means Revis Island is open for business. Despite their hype, the Jets have too many questions needing answers. Revis is not the question mark. Will Mark Sanchez enter the sophomore slump? Is LaDanian Tomlinson still a productive running back? Some questions will be answered Monday night, for better or worse. Expect a rough and tough close game, and don’t be surprised who wins. You have two good teams opening up Monday nights with a bang.

Prediction: Jets 24-20

Enjoy the first week of football, and good luck with your teams & picks.

Yours Truly,

Sebastian Maldonado
