Hey sports fans; welcome back to today’s sports update.  I’m Sebastian Maldonado with all the hottest news in sports.  Since everyone heard about baseball’s recent news, let’s work our way up.

NFL training camp seems more interesting when certain people show up after they said they were not going to (must be a money thing).  Terrell Owens did show up for the Eagles training camp, but not this man: Brian Westbrook was a no-show at training camp; his reasons have yet to be revealed to the rabid Eagle fans.  Has the Eagles’ attention span has been ONLY about T.O.?  Hmmm… Something’s fishy about this one.  For you diehard football fans, pick up this week’s Sports Illustrated as players like QB Donovan McNabb and RB Tiki Barber share their workout plans during training camp.

Here are the acquisitions of the Miami Heat’s new players:

Antoine Walker, Jason Williams, and James Posey (in order of appearance) have been traded to the Heat from the Celtics and Grizzlies.  With Shaq also signed for a 5-yr. $100 million deal (which is a pay-cut for his INTENDED salary), it seems that the Heat are a lock to win the title.  What do you think about their chances?  Plus, do you think the Knicks will do better with Larry Brown at the helm of the “Knicker-bundle” circus?

Everyone knows about Rafael Palmeiro and how he’s either a liar or a moron.  In my opinion, he lied to everyone.  So is the car salesman Bud Selig as he knew that Palmeiro failed the test by May.  Can we truly believe this steroid system?  Bottom line is that Bud Selig can take his “authority” and shove it.  He’s the worst commissioner that has ever been in the game of baseball.  Someone needs to come in and fix this mess.

On a side note, I would like end this update with an announcement.  New York Yankee centerfielder Bernie Williams’ option for next season has been declined.  Instead of complaining on the radio and local newspapers, Bernie went about his business & will seem to go quietly into the sunset.  I think I speak for every true Yankee fan out there that we wish nothing but the best for Bernie.  Reply if you want and see you later you KNUCKLEHEADS!!!

Yours Truly,

Sebastian Maldonado
