Welcome to today’s sports update; I’m your host Sebastian Maldonado with the hottest news in the best and worst of sports.  Well, hockey’s officially done, and Lance Armstrong will go for his seventh Tour de France title (a record that surely stands out on its own).  Now it’s time for spring training of baseball, and its episode III of the Yankees VS. Red Sox rivalry.

New Red Sox pitcher David Wells ripped Torre, pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, and A-Rod.  The New York Papers are having a field day with the former Yankee.  Will Yankee fans consider him a traitor? Will Beantown accept him or is it the “once a Yankee, always a Yankee” saying? Plus, the Sox are re-considering the ring ceremony on opening day against the Bronx Bombers.  The question is will they do it?  Should they do it?  Most importantly, will it offend fans if they do decide to present the rings in front of the Yankees?

Bad news for the All-Star weekend: LeBron James took a short break from last night’s loss against the T-Wolves due to the flu.  Could LeBron miss the entire All-Star weekend?  Plus, a case was made saying that LeBron is the midseason MVP and NOT Steve Nash.  Who’s your pick? You decide.

In football, the Chargers placed a “designated” franchise tag on Drew Brees.  It’s likely that he will stay; the Jets put their tag on DE Jon Abraham: good move or bad?  Drew Bledsoe was released from the Bills; will Bill Parcells pick him up?  Plus, on February 14th, Reggie Fowler is the first black owner of the Minnesota Vikings (of any NFL team).  What an event to happen during Black History Month!

Some good news came from Beantown; Tedy Bruschi was released from the hospital on Friday.  Bruschi suffered from stroke-like symptoms on Wednesday.  Boston Mass has supported the 9-year veteran.  Bruschi came off his 3rd Super Bowl win and his 1st Pro Bowl game.  I wish him and his family well as everyone in Boston is praying for Bruschi and hopes that something like this does not happen again.

Well, that’s it for the update; keep replying because opinions of this update are very important.  Hope you guys have a good weekend.  Later you KNUCKLEHEADS!

Yours truly,

Sebastian Maldonado
